Expanding the Wayfinder Brand World with AI Video

A fully AI-integrated Workflow

Following the establishment of Wayfinder’s visual identity, I wanted to push the brand’s narrative further by translating its core philosophy, "quiet determination" into motion. I developed a 10-second product sting to test the limits of a fully AI-integrated workflow, moving beyond static imagery to create a cohesive, cinematic sequence without a physical camera crew.

The project utilised three specific AI tools—Midjourney, Nano Banana, and Veo 3.1, to build a workflow that offered granular control over every frame, from atmospheric lighting to the texture of the fabric.

Mood

I began by using Midjourney to establish the environmental atmosphere. The goal was to capture the "moments in between" that define the Wayfinder brand, soft, diffused morning light, mist-laden trails, and a colour palette grounded in earth tones. Midjourney allowed me to rapidly iterate on these textures, defining a visual language that felt expansive yet intimate, ensuring the digital environment carried the emotional weight of the physical outdoors.

Character

One of the biggest challenges in AI video is maintaining identity across different shots. For this, I utilised Nano Banana. By feeding the model reference sheets from the initial concept phase, I was able to lock in facial features and build ensuring they remained consistent whether seen in profile, silhouette, or close-up. This tool bridged the gap between a random figure and a recurring brand character, anchoring the sting in a human journey.

Products

The gear itself needed to look functional and tactile. I used a combination of Midjourney for the initial form generation and Nano Banana for precise refinement. This workflow allowed me to "design" the jacket and footwear with specific material properties, ensuring the products looked like they belonged in the Wayfinder ecosystem.

Final Edits

To bring these static assets to life, I moved into Veo 3.1. This video generation model allowed me to animate the character and environment with a high degree of fidelity. I focused on subtle movements to maintain the quiet energy of the brand. Veo 3.1 transformed the composed stills into fluid motion clips, which were then compiled into the final 10-second edit, delivering a sting that aligns with the brand's aesthetic.
